Dear AU-Miami community,
I hope this message finds you all doing well.
Today electric power was restored in our campus. Storm shutters were removed and a thorough inspection of the facilities was completed. Our information technology systems are now fully operational.
Tomorrow our wonderful administration and ITS staff will continue working to get the campus in optimal shape to reopen.
We are aware that widespread difficulties with power outages, storm debris, and gasoline shortage are affecting many of our students, staff, and faculty. We also know of members of our community who evacuated the state for safety reasons who are now in their journey back home.
Taking all this into consideration and upon consultation with President Pons we have decided that the campus will remain closed tomorrow Wednesday September 13. We hope to reopen the campus on Thursday for general services and class.
Tomorrow we will meet again to assess the situation and make a final determination about reopening.
Please look for our reopening notification tomorrow through email, Facebook page, and our website.
All the best,
Etiony Aldarondo, Ph.D.
