Dr. Heyden coordinates the Albizu University school psychology track. Additional classes taught by Dr. Heyden includes: Family Therapy, Group Therapy and Practica.

Biography

A former chief psychologist at the Newark Family Counseling Center, Dr. Heyden utilizes a theoretical integrationist approach in his clinical work, which allows him to incorporate multiple treatment modalities in a manner that is applicable to an individual patient. This orientation stems from experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Intervention, Reality Therapy and Family Systems Approach.

Research / Research Interests

Dr. Heyden has presented at multiple conferences, including the American College of Forensic Examiners and the Florida Psychological Association.

His research interests center around the study of family therapy and forensics.

Academics, Education, Certifications

Dr.Heyden received his Bachelor’s and Master's Degree from the University of Delaware and his doctorate in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia.

Recent Publications

Dr. Heyden authored numerous proposals for Federal and local grants and presented numerous workshops around the country.
