Project Director-Title V PPOHA Grant, Interim Dean of Student Affairs

As Project Director, Professor Ramon Sanchez coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Title V PPOHA Graduate Grant (CFDA Number including program implementation, development of products and resources for Faculty/Staff and graduate students, fiscal management, and program evaluation. This grant focuses on two (2) initiatives: 1) strengthening and expanding online/hybrid graduate program offerings (e.g., new system for high-quality online/hybrid instruction; revision of existing online courses and conversion of existing face-to-face courses to online or hybrid format) and 2) strengthening graduate student support (e.g., online and on-campus writing and research assistance and financial literacy instruction for graduate students; live and recorded seminars to support online and on-campus graduate students).

In addition, he also the Interim Dean of Student Affairs for the Miami Campus.  He taught courses in the Undergraduate Psychology and Education programs in the areas of multiculturalism, critical thinking, and religion.

Biografía

Professor Sanchez began his career at Albizu University over 18 years ago in the Spring of 2006 as an adjunct faculty member in the Master’s in Business Administration Program. He is a career educator, and human resource development professional. He has over 33 years of experience in Florida’s public-school system where he has served as administrator over school choice programs, and administrative and professional staffing.

He has over 26 years of combined experiences with co-writing, managing, and compliance oversight with multi-year education grant projects such as the Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MSAP) grants, and the Title I, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) grants.

Investigación / Intereses de investigación

Professor Sanchez teaches courses on diversity and multiculturalism, education, leadership development, cross-cultural communication, training and development, human resources management, and religion. He has research interests in consciousness studies, transpersonal theory, mythology, and religion. He has also been a guest lecturer at Florida International University, and Barry University, on Cuban religiosity, and the Lukumí religion.

Professor Sanchez is a candidate for a Ph.D. in Integral and Transpersonal Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, in San Francisco, California; and has a M.S. in Human Resources Development and Administration, from the Barry University School of Education, a Human Resources Certificate, and a B.S. in Professional Administration from Barry University.

In his years as an Adjunct Professor, beginning in 2006, he has developed and taught the following courses: MAN 464 and MGMT 516: Managing Multicultural Organizations, undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, he has taught and revised the following courses: a) ADM 315: Diversity in the Workplace; b) ADM 312: Training and Development; c) ADM 353: Leadership and Performance Development; d) ADM 410: Recruitment and Selection; e) ADM 412: Quality and Productivity; f) ADM 464: Strategic Human Resource Administration; g) PUB 406: Human Resources in the Public Sector; h) AMH 202: Multicultural American; i) FLE 305: Cross-Cultural Communication; j) HRM 441: Human Resource Management; k) HRMT 648: Building Competitive Advantage Through Human Resource Development; l) PSY 341: Interpersonal Communication; and m) REL 101: Introduction to World Religions.

Professor Sanchez is also a certified professional teacher in the State of Florida in the Spanish language.
