Biography
Dr. Leland has more than 18 of experience in the finance and accounting industry. Her extensive financial experience has covered everything from financial modeling to forensic accounting, as well as financial consulting and planning. She has acquired knowledge through her work in many industries, such as aviation, eyewear manufacturing, new product development, financial consulting and financial forecasting/planning. She has led organizations as a business unit controller, assistant controller, cost manager, and new product cost manager. Now she balances her love of finance and analysis with her passion for teaching students and making the learning process memorable and rewarding.
Research / Research Interests
Dr. Leland focuses on the application of financial modeling for problem-solving and forecasting. She plans to expand on that area of knowledge through blockchain capabilities and fintech simulation tools.
Academics, Education, Certifications
Dr. Leland received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She then received her Master of Business from UTSA in San Antonio, her Master of Forensic Accounting and her Master of Taxation from FAU in Boca Raton, Florida. She also received her Doctorate in Finance from NCU in Prescott, Arizona. She is currently completing her Master of Applied Economics from SNHU and will graduate in June 2024.
Dr. Leland is certified in blockchain finance.
