Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology

Speech & Language

The Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology (MS-SLP) at Albizu University (AU), trains students to become competent speech and language pathologists who are prepared to provide clinical services to children and adults with speech and language, cognitive-linguistic, and/or swallowing disorders, as well as to serve as consultants and clinical supervisors.

The Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology program provides training in intervention and therapeutic techniques, in addition to the tools used to assess communication and swallowing disorders. Academic learning is integrated with practicum experiences to help students acquire the skills needed to work with neurodiverse populations and those affected by developmental differences such as autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders, as well as individuals with reading and writing impairments, aphasia, dementia, voice and fluency disorders, hearing impairments, craniofacial abnormalities, neurogenic speech disorders, and articulation and phonological disorders, among others. The program emphasizes an inclusive approach, recognizing and respecting the diversity of neurological profiles and communication styles in the populations served.
