Biography
Dr. Martinez is currently an Assistant Professor for the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology Program. She has taught in higher education since 2016.
Dr. Martinez's clinical training has primarily focused on behavioral medicine. During her time as a practicum student and psychology intern at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, she worked closely with patients in intensive care units, Ryder Trauma Center, and an inpatient rehabilitation center. She completed her residency training in primary care behavioral health at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital and later worked as a licensed psychologist in a primary care clinic in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Additionally, Dr. Martinez has experience conducting psychological assessments in hospital and private practice settings.
Research / Research Interests
Research interests include health psychology and positive psychology.
Academics, Education, Certifications
Dr. Martinez earned a B.A. in Psychology from Florida International University as well as both an M.S. in General Psychology and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University.
She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Massachusetts.
