A resounding success its March 1st Annual South Florida Student Research Symposium

MIAMI - This March 2016, Albizu University held its 1st Annual South Florida Student Research Symposium.  The Symposium was organized by The Institutional Center of Scientific Research at Albizu University (ICSR) – Miami campus. During the initial remarks of the Symposium, Dr. Carlos Perez Benitez, the Associate Director of the ICSR, highlighted the early research of Carlos Albizu Miranda, founder of the Institution, in areas such as poverty and mental health, test bias, Puerto Rican personality, and the social context of intellectual disability.

Dr. Alfonso Martínez Taboas becomes the second Hispanic to receive this prestigious international award

SAN JUAN -  Albizu University recently announced that Dr. Alfonso Martínez Taboas, a professor at this institution of higher learning, was granted the Morton Prince Award For Scientific Achievement by the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). This award is given to mental health professionals who have distinguished themselves for their outstanding contributions to the field of psychological trauma and dissociation.
