Dear AU students,
I hope this message finds you well. After reviewing the latest information on the projected path of hurricane Irma we have decided to close the campus for classes and all other academic events tomorrow Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We look forward to regrouping and moving on with the academic semester after the storm has passed.
We encourage you to take prudent steps to ensure your own personal preparedness and safety. We also encourage you to lookout for your fellow classmates. Moments like this challenge us to make the well-being and safety of others equally important to our own. Please reach out to your fellow classmates to make sure they know about the storm and are taking steps to protect themselves. If they waver or seem unsure as to what to do ask them if they need help. They will be grateful and we will all be a better community for it.
I will be sending additional communications tomorrow and in the days to come. Please check your emails, Facebook, and website periodically for updates.
All the best,
Etiony Aldarondo, Ph.D.
