Clinical Supervision Course by Master in Psychology Department “Clinical Supervision: Process and Practice”

Effective February 1st, 2000 clinical social workers, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists who provide clinical supervision in Florida to master’s level interns and trainees for licensure purposes, must be qualified as per rule chapter 64 B4-11.007 (CSW), (MFT), and 64 B4-31.007 (MHC), and 64 B4-21.007 (MFT) which mandate that they complete training in supervision in one of the following:

A graduate level academic course in supervision; or

A continuing education course in supervisory training which meets the requirements of rule 64 B4-6.0025 (14 hours); or

An AAMFT course for Approved Supervisors, or

A post-graduate training course for field instructors in clinical social work

Current trends in the field also call for qualified supervisors to become familiar with working in interdisciplinary teams in integrated behavioral healthcare settings.

The Master’s in Psychology Program of Albizu University - Miami Campus announces the new 14-hour continuing education course titled “Clinical Supervision: Process and Practice” that will be conducted by the Master’s in Psychology Programs on June 22nd and June 23rd. 

This course was designed for Master’s in Psychology field supervisors network seeking to place more mental health counseling and marriage and family therapy students in integrated behavioral healthcare settings. It meets criteria by the licensure board to attain approved qualified supervisor designation for master level clinicians in Florida.

Upon request, 14 CEUs will be awarded. Albizu University (AU) is an approved continuing education provider for licensed master’s level clinicians (mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and clinical social workers) and for psychologists.
