Colleges and Universities granting degrees to Hispanic students nationwide

Miami Campus, Florida Albizu University is one of the Top 100 nationwide institutions that are training and granting degrees to Hispanic students, according to The Hispanics Outlook in Higher Education 2015 magazine and IPEDS Database 2013 of total graduate student enrollment. With this recognition, Albizu University is positioned among institutions like Florida International University, Harvard University, Nova Southeastern University, New York University, University of Miami, Georgetown University, Texas A&M University. Stanford University, and California State University.

Founded in 1966 by the Puerto Rican Dr. Carlos Albizu -Miranda, the first Hispanic Educator to have a North American University renamed in his honor, Albizu University is the first psychology specialized graduate institution in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.  

Albizu University is federally designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution and regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Its doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology are accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Actually, Miami Campus Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program (Psy.D), is one of the only 7 Accredited Programs by APA in the State of Florida, and San Juan Campus Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program (Psy.D), is one of the only 2 APA Accredited Programs in Puerto Rico.

Other distinctions:

The Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology is ranked as the top program in Florida and Southeastern US. Ranked third in the Nation by an independent survey

According to the National Science Foundation – NSF Survey of Earned Doctorates in the U.S., Albizu University is one of the Top 20 Leading Doctorate- Granting Institutions of U.S. - minority recipients.

According to the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Albizu University - San Juan Campus PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology program is part of the Top 20 PhD Programs by Overall Weighted Index of Student Ratings.
