The objective of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in General Psychology Program at Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus, is to train students in specialized skills and competencies in the teaching of psychology at undergraduate and graduate levels, and in the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competencies in research and professional consultation. Psychology professionals who already hold a master’s degree in the field may choose to continue their doctoral studies in this program in order to expand their knowledge base and improve their employment opportunities in various areas, including teaching, research, and professional consultation. Therefore, you as a graduate student from this program may find employment in a variety of settings including schools, private practice, universities, government offices, private institutions, research projects and professional consulting, etc.
